National University of Colombia’s Music Conservatoire

María Barbosa will be the guest conductor for the Music and Historical Memory project, presented by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage at UNAL and the Conservatory of Music of the Faculty of Arts. This academic project, in collaboration with Fragmentos Espacio de Arte y Memoria from the Ministry of Culture, is part of the Music and Historical Memory Cycle program.

The program includes a conference on the book Time's Echo by author Jeremy Eichler and the performance of A Survivor from Warsaw, Op. 46 by Arnold Schoenberg, featuring students from the Conservatory. This work explores resistance through music during the Holocaust and the power of the arts to preserve historical memory.

Additionally, a composition competition has been launched for undergraduate students to select a new work of 8 to 10 minutes, which will be premiered in a second concert alongside the repeat performance of A Survivor from Warsaw at the Auditorio León de Greiff.
